Dear our valued families of registered children,

We sincerely hope you all, your families and loved ones are well at this time.

After the announcement from the school board and the BC health minister we would like to keep you updated on what to expect from us at PKD the next few weeks.

Please be assured that parents will not be responsible for paying any fees for June if there is no attendance and your spot will be maintained for July.

Classes and Programs

At this time, we are going to postpone our art classes and other adult programming at the studio in an effort to follow social distancing. This includes Birthday parties, art class on Tuesday 5pm-5:50pm & Wednesday 4pm-4:50pm and Friday 4pm-6pm also our Adult paint nights and moms art groups will also be postponed until further notice. Our Queens Park Gallery show will also be postponed till fall. If you have any questions please let us know, and we hope to continue these programs as soon as we can.

Our licensed daycare, preschool and school aged programs remains open as it is deemed an essential service until further notice from the public health authority. That being said, if health authorities are to close licensed childcare facilities these options will change.

Regarding illness

We are following government policies regarding illness at the school. If your child is sick with a fever, runny nose, cough or other symptoms we ask that these students stay home. We will be monitoring all students and staff closely for any cold or flu symptoms in efforts to keep our school safe. We also ask parents to wait outside at drop off or by the door and that upon entry and exit all students must wash their hands.

Polka Dot Art Therapy Class

What is Art Therapy?

Art Therapy combines the creative process and psychotherapy to facilitate self-exploration and understanding. Using imagery, color, and shape as part of this creative therapeutic process, thoughts and feelings can be expressed that would otherwise be difficult to articulate.

Working with Art Therapy

We Beliefs:

Everyone can be an artist.

Creative outlets boost self-esteem.

Art can be used as a tool for communication.

Art can be a container.

Artistic communities can foster self-esteem and connection with others.

Everything is a resource.
